The Maritime Heritage Alliance is a grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and teaching Great Lakes Maritime History through experiential activities on the water and in our shops.

We use our vessels to promote a knowledge of local history as well as helping individuals from all walks of life develop skills to promote a sense of self-reliance. 

The Schooner Madeline is our Flagship, and is the State of Michigans Goodwill Ambassador, as well as the Goodwill Ambassador to Traverse City.  

Madeline is built by, crewed by, and maintained completely by volunteers.  She is truly a testament to what the power of a dream can do.
